My best friend is one of those people who always seems to have the solution to whatever crisis presents itself.
Calm.
Unflappable.
Pragmatic.
Zipper broke? No worries, she has safety pins.
Bug on the wall …. HUGE bug … as the bride and groom enter? A smooth swipe as she greets them. Ten steps to the door, hysteria avoided and a good bug lives to see another day.
Pants won’t stay up? Two words: zip ties.
She and I have laughed ourselves to tears as she recounts the tales of things that can go wrong and that she just McGivers her way through and no one is any the wiser.
For as long as I’ve known her, she’s been the person who simply found a way to make things happen when no one else thought it was possible. Now she’s built a business on that skill set but it doesn’t really fit into a neat box.
Event planning. Day-of Coordinator. Event consulting. Teacher. Therapist. Diplomat. Wizard.
I told her she needed to share her stories with others because they can be funny but often times they’re just beautiful moments. In today’s world we all need more laughter and beauty.
Also people need ideas on how to handle similar situations as we come back together after the Pandemic.
I told her she should do a blog. She laughed and told me she’s not a writer.
But I am …. So, I’m going to share some of the stories, solutions and silliness that my sister-from-another-mister tells me. There will be funny and heartwarming stories, Tammy’s philosophies about celebrations and priorities, and DIY event planning how-tos and resources.
I hope you’ll come along for the journey.
Tammy’s friend Kate
